Hole in one ball in cup

Hole in one

Jenn got her first hole-in-one at the Hala Greens 9 hole par 3 course in Chanhassen. She hit her driver 127 yards straight at the pin. The ball bounced a few times hopped on the green rolled right at the pin and then dropped.... Since it was about 39 degrees cloudy and windy we had the whole course to ourselves but I am certain we waked up a few residents with our shouting and yelling. So now perhaps Jenn will golf more often than once every 4 years.

A letter to Molly

My darling Molly,

It's hard for me to express in words what you mean to me. When you entered my world my days became brighter. True, my nights also grew shorter but I am certain that you will start sleeping again one of these days. You are my second daughter so I thought I had some idea of what to expect. I am perhaps better prepared for the diaper changes and the late night wake-up calls than I was with Sonja, but I was unprepared for the effect your smile has on my heart.

I look into your eyes and I see reflected back an image of me and your mother and all that is beautiful between us. I see in your face a welcoming sense of family and familiarity. I hear in your laugh hope and optimism unabated and it melts me.

Please know that minute that we are apart you are with me.

All my love,

Daddy

An e-mail from Jenn

John started his grad school class again on Thursday nights, and Sonja and I called him to say "hi" and report on the day's events when I picked her up from school yesterday. John told her that he was going to school that night, too, and she said, "Oh, just like me! What is YOUR teacher's name?" John told her that it is Milt, and she laughed like it was the funniest thing she'd ever heard, said "HAHAHAHA, that sounds like white milk!!!" and then continued to giggle about it off and on for much of the rest of the ride home.

Toddler humor is so weird and fun!
